Sarabjeet Kaur Sandhu

Since 1981, Sarabjit Kaur Sandhu has worked in education, rehabilitation, skills development and lifelong care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has contributed to the rehabilitation of thousands of children with special needs and the training of more than 800 special educators. Through special education, vocational training, healthcare and employment initiatives, she has promoted independence and social inclusion in Punjab and other states. Through Navjeevini, she has also helped people with disabilities access employment and greater independence, and played an important role in enabling special athletes to win numerous medals at national and international Special Olympics events.
