Andhra Pradesh 2021
A cradle for civil construction and scholastic development of deprived children
Discipline begins by mastering one’s thoughts. If you don’t control what you think, you can’t control your actions either. Self-discipline firstly assists us in thinking and subsequently aids our working as well.
Therefore, the difference between a successful person and a failed person is the quality that is evident in their behaviour. It is proved by the individual’s thoughts and decisions taken by that person under special circumstances. For example, what we do on some important occasions probably depends on what we are and what we are is the result of the self-discipline of previous years. The basis of the importance of discipline is visible in Shri Guruji’s each Swayamsevak, which each volunteer carries with him throughout his life. Based on this practice, there exists the Amrithavarshini Child Welfare Ashram. It’s an orphanage run by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad Service Department and is a useful ashram for children.
The ashram is located in the municipal area of Anantapuram district in southern Andhra Pradesh. The municipal areas here have a population of 1.4 lakhs and there is also a major railway junction in this area. The purpose of this institution is to set up orphanages, free medical centres, schools, community centres, and agro-based natural manure preparation training centres.
Amrithavarshini Bal Kalyan Ashram is such a unique service centre in itself whose goal is to vouch for the all-round development of children standing at the lowest rung of society and to include them in the mainstream as well as to empower youth with nationalist ideology. This orphanage began in the year 1986, with the blessings of Shri Shri Shri Udipi Pejawar Tirtha Swamiji. Since then, this orphanage has given shelter to about 100 such orphaned children, who have high discipline and surfaced with commitment in their personal life as well as towards the nation. As good citizens of society, they are helping in nation-building. At Amrithavarshini Bal Kalyan Ashram along with giving importance to education at the same time, how to provide a good and conducive educational environment to a student with all kinds of facilities is also taken care of. For instance, the current location of this orphanage is its own building on 70 cents of land, with a renovated kitchen, dining hall, reading hall, safe drinking water, toilet block, adequate playground and computer education facilities are being provided. Currently, attempts are being undertaken by the ashram to connect 31 orphaned children to the mainstream as strong nationalist youth.
The academic life of every student of the ashram starts from Shri Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Gurukul where they get education from class I to X.
The main feature of Amrithavarshini Bal Kalyan Ashram is that through this ashram, not only the partially-orphaned children of the society are developed but also those who want to study but are deprived of higher education due to economic and caste segregation are also given special assistance. So that the youth full of nationalist ideology from every sector of society can be connected to the mainstream. For example, in the month of April-May every year, orphans (such children who are not raised by anyone in the family) or partial-orphans (children who are looked after by any other family members other than their parents) were given new admissions based on economic poverty irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Each student educated from the ashram will give priority to discipline, education, national integrity and service towards cultural protection.
The manner in which a disciplined life is necessary for the students in the ashram is known from the day-to-day routine of the ashram according to which a fixed timing is ensured for each day. The day’s schedule is followed rigorously from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each day is concluded with a Shanti Mantra. Sangh Shakhas are held every day from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which is necessary to explain the importance of restraint and patience in students. At the same time, the health of each student is also fully monitored, under which two doctors of the ashram take care of the health of all the children and every two months the collective health examination is also conducted.
Dedication to the country along with duty and accountability of all those who are established in good positions in the society towards the students living in the ashram is evident from this that every year they come to the ashram and also provide support according to their capacity. Apart from this, for the optimistic advancement in the national and national outlook of the students, every year during the summer holidays educational excursion programs are organized. Additionally, the participation of children in other undertakings such as cultural activities, folk songs and extra-curricular activities like sports is very encouraging. Amrithavarshini Bal Kalyan Ashram is run entirely on social assistance basis without any government assistance. Its accountability to the nation is clear from this that the details of every annual expenditure incurred in the Ashram are submitted to the auditor. Later obtaining the report from the audit and submitting it to the higher authority. Also, presenting it in the monthly executive meeting further shows the transparency of the ashram. Sant Eshwer Foundation has selected Amrithavarshini Bal Kalyan Ashram for the Sant Eshwer Samman 2021, such that it continues to constructively train the deprived youth of the society in the greater interest of the country and the nation in the future too.
