Indian civilization is one of the ancient civilizations. Our civilization is characterised by a sense of oneness despite the many cultural diversities, preserving and enriching traditional knowledge from generation to generation despite the change in traditions. This speciality has been benefiting the modern generation and society with its traditional knowledge. Due to this, the degree of moral life values in society remained intact. Society has been strengthening and organizing not only itself but also its existence by using this knowledge in its traditional ventures like agriculture and other standards of living. In Indian society, this knowledge has been accumulated verbally for thousands of years in the form of folk arts, folk culture and folk dialects. South India’s Palle Srijan Voluntary Organization is continuously benefiting these sections of the society by taking traditional knowledge and modern science together by devising new inventions for Indian farmers, artisans and small businessmen etc. Consequently, society there is perceptive of the system of maintaining its crops, selling them in the market at a reasonable price and saving money for the future through its traditional methods of agriculture. Thus, society is continuously moving towards self-reliance.

Palle Srijan located at Vayupuri Sainikpuri, Secunderabad, Telangana headed by Brigadier P Ganesham is a voluntary organization playing a distinctive role in the conservation, promotion and dissemination of traditional knowledge among the people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at the grass root level. The organization has established its nationwide network with National Innovation Foundation India in India. Brigadier P. Ganesham, the founder of the organization, asserts that in this campaign, it has been aimed that the organization will create knowledge centres or knowledge hubs in rural areas in Telugu. Those will have adequate details about their traditional knowledge.

With responsibility, we will compose individuals as the masters of knowledge. To achieve this goal, Palle Srijan has voluntarily associated people with it. It has started innovation among the public. Due to this public interest has increased and people are joining the campaign. They transfer every subject and pursuit in an effortless manner that even the most ordinary person comprehends and can prove to be beneficial for all. For this, they are reaching out to individual fields. Through the organization, small facilities have been made available to the people at the grass root level in the village itself. Efforts were made to reach the rural communities and explain to them the mechanisms of connecting with the market. Concerns include suitable packaging of crops or other products and arrangement of transport to ferry the products to the market.

The aim of the organization is to ensure quality at every level and to motivate people for similar voluntary work. Certainly, the organization is developing efficient executive qualities in rural communities. Thus, resulting in not only preparing skilled farmers, but also skilled businessmen from the areas. Brigadier Ganesham articulates that firstly we thrived for successfully instilling faith in the temperaments of the people. Gradually, the rest of the work gained pace. With the cooperation of the people, the journey progressed with an uninterrupted swiftness, which was encouraging and delightful. The volunteers who joined the organization and the team were always enthusiastic. After that, the campaign of the Palle foundation continued. We embraced innovative quests comprising a monthly magazine published since 2006. People are attached to this magazine. They also advertise and sponsor it as well as voluntarily subscribe to it. The people are only charged for the printing cost.

Gandhi Ji stressed that if you want freedom of speech, first you bring freedom to the individual and only then things will move forward. During the pandemic, we strategized to meet people every week and asked them to work with awareness, vigilance and patience. Assemblies were held among small farmers. In this way, we gave the opportunity to about 140919 workers at more than two hundred and fifty places. Since 2011, 414 trips have been made by Palle Srijan. This is mainly a knowledge journey to enrich the creativity and traditional knowledge among the farmers of the village. That knowledge can also be related to farming, business, tradition, culture, folk culture and life values. All these efforts have been performed in numerous villages. With this, online and offline more than 25100 management students, including students from IITs and NITs, were affiliated with the institution. We addressed the UG-level students also. Our volunteers went to hundreds of schools, remote villages, distant areas, towns and also worked to inspire school children. In this journey, an attempt was made to identify the plights that hinder the resolution of innovation.

This long journey has been a remarkable experience. 26 children encouraged by us have been awarded by the President of India for their innovation. Honoring the creativity of children is a great achievement for the volunteers of Palle Srijan. These innovations were not only documented but were carried forward through all these in every village. So far, such innovations worth about ₹ 200000000 have been sold. Since 2018, we have created a formal mechanism to channelize the contributions of grassroots innovators, give them recognition, support and encouragement. Further, it allows us to preserve as well as enrich traditional knowledge-system. Brigadier P Ganesham is ecstatic that the work of innovation he started from the ground level is progressing, proving it to be a great achievement. This initiative of ours is getting continuous encouragement, especially in Telangana, due to which the organization will continue to take forward this modus operandi to other states as well.
