Shri Puithium Roreliana Ji, working in the conservation and promotion of Mizo culture and traditions, needs no introduction. He is instrumental in blowing the wind of Indian culture and traditions in Mizoram, a state with a large population of Christians. Every week in about 35 villages, he makes people aware and associates them closely with the Mizo culture and traditions.

He was a Christian preacher for 19 years and then returned to his roots and culture, considering it immaterial. Before knowing about him, we must briefly discuss the Abrahamic sect of Christianity.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam, all three consider Abraham as their first prophet, hence are called Abrahamic. According to them, their God, the prophet who told about him and his book is the only truth in the world, in which disbelief or speaking against them or raising questions can be punished even with the death penalty. Initiating the entire human race in these beliefs by propagating these principles is also integral to them. There is no restriction in resorting to violence, deceit, greed or harassment to achieve these goals. Those who don’t believe in these are referred to as pagans, infidels or kafirs. World history is a witness that lakhs and crores of such ‘non-believers’ have either been killed or converted to these three religions. It is evident that they can neither accept any other faith as truth nor give equal place to it. They also share a commonality that their followers have the right to go to heaven and others will go to hell. Further, still the ‘non-believers’ don’t have the right to live on earth. These three always try to lure others into their religion, especially Christians and Muslims and consider it their duty. They regard all religions, customs and traditions other than themselves to be false and wherever they have spread, they have destroyed the beliefs, traditions and cultures of the natives by deceit, force, devious calculations, etc.

The north eastern region of India is the abode of people of various tribes and central India is also full of many Adivasi tribes. Additionally, the deprived and Scheduled Castes, tribes of India remain the target of the conversion campaign of Christians, out of which almost the entire population of other states except for Assam in North East India has been converted to Christianity.

Various scholars have studied the dogma intensely and have concluded that there are many contradictions within Christianity and even argue that there is no such person named Jesus Christ. He renounced Christianity after comprehensive deliberation and adopted the Sanatan Hindu tradition. These include intellectuals such as David Fale, Condride Elst and Esther Dhanraj. This series also includes Puithium Roreliana Ji.

Shri Puithium, son of Shri Pakuniga and Rual Chingi Ji, was born on 1 October 1947. At about 20 years old in 1967, he left his family and decided to preach Christianity.

Later B. Lalthalingyana, R. Banlaljua and K. Lalkshaima also joined in the same work in 1971, 75, 76 and together they formed a group named Gospel Tiger.

For the promotion of Christianity, he travelled across the country for 19 years as an Evangelist. Regarding this, he went to many other countries and was associated with the United States as well. He studied the Bible profoundly and after 10 such deliberations, realised that the Bible and Christianity are not suitable for our nation. After getting acquainted with this truth, he was disillusioned with Christianity and started the work which was in the interest of our country. He declared that our nation and lineage are equal to God for us and got engaged in the service of these. Witnessing this, the Christian institutions boycotted him and in 1981 his name was also withdrawn from the list of Christianity.

Three parishioners attempted to persuade Puithium Ji to return to Christianity but when they realized that it didn’t affect him, they soon accepted their defeat.

During this time Puithium Ji continued his noble efforts and gradually became popular among the Mizo communities of Manipur and Myanmar. Before long many people joined him as his followers.

The doctrine and system being propagated by Puithium Ji didn’t match with Christianity and he could not understand how one could give priority to one’s tradition over Christianity. There have also been countless people who believe in the path adopted by Puithium Ji but they don’t openly register their support for the fear of Christians. Despite the opposition from Christians, Puithium Ji is still facing them strongly. He is dedicated and engaged in preserving and promoting the ancient Mizo tradition, culture and customs. At present, he lives in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram and they gather once a week to worship God and also contemplate the self-respect, traditions, culture and preservation of the Mizo community. Currently, this work is going on in about 35 villages. We are all proud of this son of Mother India, who has assisted in reviving the Indian culture and traditions, where this ancient convention had reached the threshold of extension.
