Vivekanand Sewa Mandal

Vivekananda Seva Mandal functions for the societal upliftment and strengthening of youth by providing education and basic healthcare needs. In the last 26 years, the Vivekananda Seva Mandal has persuasively moved towards the collective welfare of society and the nation. Multidimensional development of youth and their proper education has floored the Nalanda initiative, village teaching initiative, engineering community centre, youth empowerment, youth consciousness, upliftment of deprived program, health initiatives, social entrepreneurship, etc. Through these courses, the Vivekananda Seva Mandal has widespread plentiful social activities.

This organization was established on the philosophy of service and is governed by the youth, is also constantly active for the welfare of children, women and neglected society. The organization operates according to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda for the education of youth, development of duties towards society and nation. Moreover, polishing of talent, training skill development, have been linked to the society and concrete advancement of the nation. The Mandal is especially moving forward with the resolve of women empowerment ensuring self-reliance and self-sufficiency of sisters of neglected and disadvantaged societies. Thus, connecting them with mainstream societal order.

On the strength of its unique service and achievements the Vivekananda Seva Mandal has realized the promise that “the service of the poor is the service of God”. The institution also made special efforts in raising alternative sources of water for irrigation along with water conservation. The effective results are noticeable. Awareness towards small dams along with recharging of dried water sources and borewells has also been achieved.

Continuing the water estate campaign, the institution has established wastewater plant and have organically planted ponds in the fields. Further, the Mandal is proactively assisting in developing the consciousness of students regarding cleanliness.

During the drastic crisis of Corona pandemic, the Vivekananda Seva Mandal upheld its nationalistic sentiment and delivered grains and food supplies to more than 6 thousand needy families across Maharashtra and to other states as well. The institution has launched extensive campaigns to the encouragement of neglected small entrepreneurs and local talents. In the tribal sector for all kinds of development of women, the centred Mobilize Underprivileged Social Entrepreneurs (MUSE) plan is materialised. It rendered many women as self-sufficient and self-reliant. The Chairman of Vivekananda Seva Mandal, Shri Ketan Bondre Ji maintains that they feel pride when reputed institutions of the country engaged in social service recognise the Seva Mandal’s work and respect their energetic workers. It encourages and inspires them towards the best service. For the last 30 years- the Mandal has played an essential role in many social use activities such as in educating poor children, whether in Palghar, Shahpur, Thane or some tribal areas.

Vivekananda Seva Mandal had delivered special contributions in numerous areas including tribal welfare, rural development, women and children welfare and art, literature, environment, health and education. To further encourage the efforts of Vivekananda Seva Mandal, the Sant Eshwer Foundation has honoured the Mandal with Sant Eshwer Vishisht Award for the year 2021.
